“My intention when creating paintings is for them to serve as a reminder of the importance of anchoring ourselves in the present moment and returning to ourselves whenever life takes us in a different direction. I firmly believe that our lives are made up of the smallest parts of our daily routines, our thoughts and beliefs, how we talk to ourselves and other people, and the depth of the relationships in our lives. That’s why I create art that deepens the experience of everyday life, creates space for meaningful conversations, and sets an atmosphere of deep connection.”
THE CONCEPT OF ARTISTIC DUALITY IN ABSTRACTION
The dual nature of paintings is a way in which Annemary experiences her creative process. She perceives her paintings as clearly defined thoughts with the intention to inspire. Sometimes this thought comes first and is the inspiration for the creation of the painting. Other times she lets her intuition guide her in the creation of a painting, allowing the message of the artwork to come to her freely within her creative process. The message that forms a pair with the painting is engraved on a small plaque and is considered to be part of the artwork.
THE PHILOSOPHY

"IT'S NOT JUST A PAINTING. IT'S A LIFE PHILOSOPHY."

These paintings are built from elements that symbolize the building blocks of our lifelong journey to knowing ourselves. Their philosophy was created during the artist’s period of re-discovering herself and it reflects the same building blocks that shape her to this day.

THE BODY

The body of each painting is made of small stones attached to the canvas. These stones represent our body as a strong shell that can take us to beautiful places. It can show us amazing dimensions of life if we take the time to care for it. The stones come in a variety of shapes and sizes, celebrating how our bodies change throughout our lives and subverting the notion that there are any “beauty standards” because every body is perfect, unique, and beautiful.

THE MIND

The mind is represented by strips of colour and it reminds us of the importance of actively perceiving our thoughts and feelings without necessarily reacting to them immediately. If we can have a clear mind that supports and uplifts the vision of the heart, we have all the tools we need to get things moving in the right direction in our lives.

THE HEART

At the heart of each painting lies its unique message, which is different every time. This message is engraved on a small plaque that we can place anywhere to remind us of what is dear to our hearts. The work forms a unit with the engraved message, as this combination forms the basis of the artist’s dualistic style, which is interesting in the way that it expresses a single idea in both written and painted form.

THE SOUL

The soul of these paintings lies in the cracks in the acrylic paint as these grooves personify and uplift all that we have gone through in life and what has left deep marks on us. They celebrate our life’s journey and all the big and seemingly small moments that we have been able to navigate. At the same time, they represent the notion of an “old soul,” because cracks in paint are linked to old paintings.

L´Entrée is a limited edition collection that focuses on the necessity of self-love and the beauty of romantic love. Although one can exist without the other, romantic love can take on completely different dimensions when built on self-love. This collection consists of only four paintings because it is as precious as the idea behind its creation.
